Widza Gustin

Contributing author.

Widza is the executive chef and owner of 180H4 Cuisine, a Haitian-inspired catering company named after 1804, the year Haitians gained their independence. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she graduated with a Grand Diploma in Culinary Arts from the International Culinary Center and served as the chef and director of client services at Sound Lounge in New York City before starting her own business. Her greatest culinary inspiration is her mother, Marie. Cooking at her mother's side, she absorbed her Haitian culture and history, and developed a passion for the food of Haiti.

The ancestral cooking techniques passed down from her mother have hugely influenced Widza’s cooking style and she incorporates her Haitian culture into every dish she makes. As the proud mother of one, Widza’s passion for Haitian cuisine is now being passed on to the next generation.
